Street Fighter IV was probably my longest experience dealing with an online fighting game. Before that it was playing on the kaillera server on Mame32 which lasted about a week because back then I had little knowledge about port forwarding and how to set it up on a router. After putting in hours and hours on Street Fighter IV online, I learned so much about my character through watching other peoples techniques, reading about some of the strategies that were possible ,and just learning techniques on my own. I earned the ultimate gratification when I savagely styled on a friend of mine who was someone whose skills always seemed to tower my own. That is when it hit me.!! Having these online matches really can improve your skills and from then on I knew online was the place to be.
It was a day like any other day when I said to myself, self, I want to master some of these classic fighting games. Samurai Showdown IV was such a beautiful game and so different from your average fighter it was a beast that I wanted to tame. King of Fighters was a series that I always loved but after a lack luster effort on their latest coming KOF XII , not to many were willing to give this game a chance online. Remembering that time when I played on kaillera, I looked to see if I could play these games again but things had changed.
There were new ways to play. Kaillera with mame32 was no longer the only way to play. There was GGPO, Supercade, and Arclive just to name a few. I started to wonder what else was possible and so the idea to create a place where those who wanted to find these things, relive glory days, and finally master a favorite character could come a lot easier than it was for me.
The more I search the more I find and its a great feeling to know that if you really want to play a lost relic, or an online classic that went offline its possible. Does it take some effort at times? I'll be the first to say yes it takes sooo much effort. Is it worth it? If your a fan that is not even a question.
So this is my reason. I hope that my site is your beacon of light on a long search. My wish is that my site made your life a little bit easier and that it gave you hours of pleasure. Ultimately it would be a great feeling to know that your savage styling was in small a result of the information I've provided at Fighting Games Online. Let's Fight!!!
